Femininity is one of the most beautiful traits to see. I don’t know if other guys think the same, but when I find a lady that is pursuing femininity it’s just amazing to me. In this article I will walk into the realm of identity, and it’s full of Scriptures, so look on every one of them carefully to help you to confirm who you are in Yeshua [Jesus] and to act outwardly according to that.
Firstly we need to understand how YHVH made us as human beings. People’s mind have created several theories to that. Some people think that we are made of ego, id and super ego; other ones think that we are high-developed and intelligent gorillas, and that we are an special energy in the universe that is everywhere. I could tell thousands of fleshy theories here, but what is the truth? Yah tells us that we are made of spirit, soul and body.
May the God of shalom make you completely holy – may your entire spirit, soul and body be kept blameless for the coming of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah – 1 Thessalonians 5:23
Let me first start describing what the soul is. The soul is basically our mind (emotions, feelings, desires and thoughts). Our character is also a part of the soul.
Now the spirit. Note that “spirit” is not with the capital ‘S’, therefore Paul is not talking about the Holy Spirit of God. He is talking about our human spirit. It is eternal and connects us to God since He is also Spirit (John 4:24). It is in the human spirit where the moral and ethical senses abide. Since we are made in the image of Yah, this spirit and sense of morality distinguishes us from animals because they can’t discern what is right and what is wrong as we can.
The Scriptures tell us that when you give your life to Yeshua [Jesus] the Messiah, you become a new creation.
“Therefore, if anyone is the Messiah, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
2 Corinthians 5:17
That is a very familiar verse to Believers, but I’ve found that just few truly understand that verse. What part of my being is the “new creation”? We know that after we were born again, our body is still the same. It was not recreated. It’s not changed (but Yah will glorify our bodies when Yeshua come back!). It is in process of deterioration, our body is gonna die someday or another.
So now we have the soul, is it the new creation of 2 Corinthians 5:17? In my own life experience I know that my emotions, feelings and desires have not instantly changed when I accepted Him as my Savior. I still had (and have some of) the same emotions and thought patterns that I had before. It is the SPIRIT that is recreated by God when we gave our lives to Yeshua! It was instantly changed, it is the “new creation” Paul was talking about.
On the other hand, our soul is in the process of salvation and has to be “saved” glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18) and now we have to decide if we will be saved by our new recreated spirit or by our flesh (old sinful nature).
Now we need to understand what happened when our human spirit was recreated by Yah through Yeshua’s blood. There are a lot of things that happened to us, but I will share here just one thing that I think it’s most critical to understand.
How is it that God recreated our spirits? He bound His own spirit with ours.
“You have been born again not from some seed that will decay, but from one that cannot decay, through the living Word of God that lasts forever.”
- 1 Peter 1:23
“But he who unites himself with Yah is one with him in spirit”
- 1 Corinthians 6:17
“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.”
- Ephesians 3:16
And this is the most amazing thing to me: believe it or not it means that you dear friend, RIGHT NOW, have all the righteousness, purity and perfection of Yeshua Himself IN your spirit, and if you surrender your soul to your spirit you can have full victory in every area of your life! Halleluyah! That’s why Yah said this: “since the Tanakh says, “You are to be holy because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16) You are already holy unto Him in your spirit, and nothing will change that even when your soul is destroyed by sin, your inner man (your spirit) remains with the same righteousness.
“ This is why we do not lose courage. Though our outer self is heading for decay, our inner self is being renewed daily.”
- 2 Corinthians 4:16
Why? Because your spirit was regenerated by Yah-God’s own seed that cannot decay. That’s the good news.
People often identity themselves and other people as body and then as soul, but God wants us to identity ourselves as spirit. We are spirit and that is who we are. Our body is just the physical place where I (spirit and soul) live within and it will die someday. My body is not me. I live within the body. So when my body is not alright, I don’t have to fear things like “am I valuable? will God meet my needs? will God give me a husband or a wife because my body is not as attractive as top models’?” Do you understand what I mean?
Do you know how a wordly man will see you in terms of romantic relationship and marriage? He will firstly be attracted by your body, if that is nice he will see your soul, and just then in some cases he will see your spirit. That is basically the dating attracting model. On the other hand, a godly man will firstly be attracted by your spirit, who you are in the spirit, who God says you are. Femininity is not in the body, I think it’s not even in the soul, it is in the spirit. That is the primary attraction to a godly man. Then he will be attracted by things of the spirit that are already in the soul. I mean, how renewed your emotions, minds and thoughts are with the spirit – in other words, how much of the truth of who you are in the spirit are in manifested reality. Finally he will be attracted by the body, but that is not a big concerning to a godly man because he knows that after fifty years of marriage, what will really matter? The body? I don’t think so! Please understand that I am not saying here that you should not take care of your body. You should take care of it because without a body there is no way for you to fulfill God’s destiny for you. I am not talking about that don’t-use-makeup issue. I am talking about what you identify yourself with.
So I want to encourage you to seek Yah and ask Him to tell you who you are in your spirit. I want you to know that there are men out there that really have godly perspectives of identity and see you in the spirit and agree with God regarding that. If Yah created you as a woman, He might have had a good reason for doing that! He has made you a wonderful (young) lady. Ask Him to tell you His perspective of your femininity. You are beautiful and perfect in Him. Confirm in and with Him of what He thinks you are in your spirit and let Him renew your mind accordingly (Romans 12:1), and disagree with what the world and even your soul attempts to say who you are. The more renewed your mind is by your spirit, the more feminine you will feel.
That’s all I had to say. I encourage you to meditate on all of Scriptures I quoted. May His grace be upon your heart more and more!
May the God of shalom make you completely holy – may your entire spirit, soul and body be kept blameless for the coming of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah
- 1 Thessalonians 5:23
Blessings,

So true, Leandro. Femininity and modesty are first and foremost a heart issue. When your heart is modest and feminine then your actions, words, behavior, and physical appearance with then be modest and feminine.
Thanks for sharing this! It is definitely something we all need to know and realize and take to heart. :)
