Every girl wears their hair in ponytails and it’s nice to dress them up a bit every once in awhile. It’s such a practical hairstyle and only takes a few minutes to do. Depending on the look you want – smooth or a bit messy – brush your hair accordingly. If you want a smooth look and your hair isn’t cooperating you can use gel or mousse.

With a comb or just with your fingers pull a section of hair out near the nape of your neck and put the rest in a ponytail using a simple elastic band. Slip a finger through one wrap of the elastic band (this will make it easier later). You can either braid the section you pulled out or not. Wrap the strand around the ponytail once or twice. Don’t worry about covering the band now – you can adjust it later.

Pull the strand down through the section of the elastic band that you’ve held open.
Step 3
Tug the strand around so it hangs down under your ponytail.

There are many different variations you could do with this style, like instead of pulling the hair all the way through you could loop it or braid down both sides of your head and using the end of the braids to wrap all the hair into a final ponytail. You could also add ribbon or different embellishments to the braid. Let me know how this style works for you or if you found out other ways to style or embellish it!

That looks very nice! A ponytail was pretty much all I wore my hair in when I was younger, so I got kinda tired of seeing them, but I’ll have to try that! I like the look!
