I’m a very excited to be interviewing Miss Paulina for this month’s Featured Femina and just gotta tell ya, she is one wonderful example and encouragement of a Godly young lady! I’m so glad I know her!
Paulina, would please tell us a little about who you are?
I’d be happy to! First and for most, I am a follower of Christ striving to serve Him more each day. But I am also a young woman with struggles of my own.
What first encouraged or opened your eyes to living a biblical life?
My spiritual awakening, as I like to call it, came several months ago following my high school graduation. No longer distracted by school work and peer pressure, I was free to ponder and think. One afternoon, I was sitting on my bed reading Leslie Ludy’s Authentic Beauty
when all of the sudden, her words started speaking to me. It must have been the Lord because as soon as I finished the book, my life changed. I let go of an area in my life that was threatening to consume me. As soon as I did that, it was as if a veil fell from my eyes and I was free to live my life entirely for the Lord. It was an amazing and almost supernatural experience. I thank the Lord that He changed me before it was too late.
What was the biggest push to be more feminine?
When I started my blog, A Set-Apart Life, I became exposed to young women who exhibited femininity and modesty in a Christ-honoring way. The concept of Biblical femininity was new to me, so I started doing some research. I searched the scriptures, read blogs, articles and books. Soon, I had developed very strong convictions in the area of how a woman of Christ is to dress and portray herself. Thanks to a number of bloggers, I now view femininity in a different light.
Can you share your favorite resources on femininity and biblical living?
Yes. Currently, I am listening to some very good messages by a man named Jonathan Lindvall who clearly has a passion for the Lord. His messages are convicting and powerful. I would also recommend Vision Forum’s products and the articles on Mom of 9′s site.
Can you offer some encouragement about living in an environment where your beliefs differ than your parents?
It’s definitely tough, but with the Lord, you can get through anything.
I recommend always showing obedience and respect to the parents God has given you, even if they disagree with your beliefs. I thank the Lord that my parents and I share the same faith and believe in the same God. Otherwise, I don’t know what I’d do! But always remember that obedience to parents is the first commandment in the Bible with a promise. With that in mind, it should be easier to avoid exhibiting a rebellious spirit and dishonoring the people God has placed in authority over you.
Out of everything you have studied and learned, can you share what has been the most important to you?
The most important thing I have learned is to live my life in a Christ honoring way. By this, I mean that others should be able to tell by my character and lifestyle that the Lord is number one in my life. Before, I didn’t take my faith seriously – it was just an after thought. But today, that has changed.
Thank you Paulina! It was wonderful getting to know you more! If you would like to know more about Paulina, visit her at A Set Apart Life where she chronicles her spiritual journey with the Lord and finds encouragement from other like-minded individuals.
