Many have hair with a dull appearance and some lack of  funds for more products. I have some economical ways to help you with your hair.  And guess what?  The ingredients are probably right in your own kitchen!  Sun, wind, saltwater, pollution, and chemicals are just some of the shine-depleting elements your hair may be subjected to on a daily basis. They can strip your hair of its natural oils and then it creates build-up, leaving it dull and lifeless. Fortunately, the Lord provided us with a few natural remedies. So, I might be able to help you alleviate your hair troubles.  Just head to the kitchen and try these simple solutions to lock in your shine the natural way.

Solution #1 Coconut Oil
Warm three tablespoons of coconut oil and gently comb into your hair from root to end. Wrap your hair in a towel and let the oil sit for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse. Coconut oil is loaded with antioxidants, and they  work to smooth dry and damaged hair and lock in your beautiful shine.

Solution #2 Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix half a cup of apple cider vinegar with one quart of water and use as a hair rinse after you shampoo your hair. The cider is rich in alpha-hydroxy acids, and they help break down residue build-up. Your hair is going to be soft and full of shine only if you can stand the smell of apple cider vinegar.

I hope you will find a solution that it makes your hair look and feel healthy and shiny! Please check back soon for more Beautiful You tips and advice.

Many Blessings,

Those are great tips! And not too expensive to try and not to strange to put in your hair! ;D I might try these soon! We don’t have any coconut oil (should get some and try this) but we do have the cider vinegar…I might try that tomorrow! :)

    Blessings!

Thanks for the hints! Eggs are also a fantastic natural hair conditioner – just beat some eggs, rub into your hair and leave for 30 minutes (in the same way as in the coconut oil solution) before shampooing out. The eggs are easier to get out if you put the shampoo on your DRY hair and lathering up before rinsing – though you’ll need to repeat this step as necessary.

Thanks for telling us, Jade. I have heard about putting eggs in your hair before but, I haven’t been able to get passed the slimy yellow stuff in my hair. :)

Thanks for those tips! I’ve never heard of those, but they sound good. I heard of a lady that puts a whole bunch of stuff in her hair like egg, honey, brown sugar, and a whole bunch of other stuff then lets it sit in her hair in a towel for 30 minutes.. Sounds great! Thanks Again

Yes, I use apple cider vinegar after using my regular shampoo and conditioner, and since have been using it, I have noticed light red highlights in my hair as well! :)
Very neat! I also looked it up to see if really was the apple cider vinegar that was doing it, and it was!!! It also makes your hair so soft! I have gotten lots of complements from my dear lady friends about how soft my hair is and what shampoo I use and when I tell them it is the apple cider vinegar, they are very surprised!

Mmmm… I just might have to try the Coconut oil technique! :)

    Blessings,

    Rachel's reply:

Oh, thank you Antoinette for you recommendation! I was curious as to how it would affect my hair, so I think maybe I “WILL” try it tomorrow after all! :) Does it make your hair smell funny afterward at all do you know?

I would like to try the coconut oil too, but I will have to wait on that for a little while. ;) Lol!

    Blessings!

    Miss. Rachel~
It does leave a very light apple smell, but the vinegar smell does not stay in your hair after you rinse it out! :) Otherwise I would not want to but it into my hair! ;)

My “little” friends even say that my hair smells Lovely! LOL!!

I hope that is helpful to you!

    Blessings,

    Rachel's reply:

Thanks Antoinette! :) Yeah, that’s what I was kind of worried about. :) I did rinse my hair out this morning when I used it, and it doesn’t smell too much in my hair. :)

Awww! That’s so cute! It’s nice to have “little” friends. :)

    Blessings!

I’ve heard of using vinegar as a rinse before, I’ll have to try it soon. I am african american and have natural hair, and I use coconut oil on my hair and it is great.

If you want a great booster that’s natural and economical, mix a bit of baking soda with your shampoo. It works very well and gives a rich lather while helping strip your hair of unwanted residue.

I have heard of the apple cider vinegar rinse before, but have never tried it. I have naturally wavy hair and it can sometimes get frizzy and dry. I have heard coconut oil helps boost the curl in wavy and curly hair types, too. I will have to try both of those! Thanks for the tips!

    Emily N.'s reply:

Same with me, Miss Hannah. I have naturally curly hair and I have tried many many things for my hair. I love the apple cider though. It makes your hair feel so soft. :)

I’ve used a vinegar rinse off and on and it works really well. It’s not too bad if you dilute it with enough water and rinse it out right away.

  9. Rachel says:

Okay, I have some questions for you Emily…

When you say “hair rinse”, do you mean rinse the shampoo out with the cider vinegar wash? Do you use all of it, or store some of it? And do you rinse any of it out afterward? (I assume not, right?).

I used it, but I’m not sure if I did it right! Lol! And, make sure you use WARM water ladies! I didn’t even think about it and used cold! BRRRRRR!!!!! :D Lol!

    Blessings!

I forgot, how often do you or should you use this on your hair? Once a week, once or twice a month, every other week?

    Thanks!

    Miss Jocelyn's reply:

You can wash your hair with the vinegar+shampoo and rinse it all out when you’re done or wash and then pour the vinegar on your hair and then rinse it out with water.

For most, you should only wash your hair 2-3times a week. You can use this as often as you wash but for some it has dried out their too much so to each her own.

I wash my hair with eggs and vinegar mixed up, btw. :)

    Rachel's reply:

Thank you Jocelyn! Yes, I only wash my hair twice a week. :) I will probably try this once a week to start and see how it affects my hair. So far, it looks pretty much the same as before. ;) Lol!

We used to buy silk protein, but now we just rub a teeeeeeny bit of coconut oil between our hands and smooth down fly away hairs! It works great and gives a nice shine! (But we have to be careful not to use too much!) It smells sooooo nice too!

Thank you Miss Emily for the tips. I love using the apple cider vingar for my hair, it makes it shine and so clean. I don’t use it often, but when I do I really like it.

As to coconut oil, I haven’t tried that yet…I like using olive oil or a blend of other oils for my hair. Keeps my hair from getting split ends.

thank you again for your post. :)
